Tony Townend - The London Busker

Hello, my name is Aaron Dishno, (family friend) and I am fundraising to help Tony's sons Jason and Ben pay for their father's funeral expenses.

George "Tony" Townend was a good friend to all. Tony retired from the aerospace industry where he owned a machine shop, while his life passion was music and the Tottenham Hotspurs (Premier League).

For the last 30 years, Tony lived on a sailboat in San Diego (Chula Vista, then Silver Gate Yacht Club - SGYC). He was a former port captain at SGYC and started a group called the string club where he taught 15-20 people how to play ukulele or guitar.

Many days you could hear the Tottenham Hotspurs game playing as you passed by his boat. With the time difference, it was often starting at 4:30 AM!

Other times Tony would be out in his boat cockpit playing guitar and singing. A couple years ago he recorded some songs and posted them on a website.

With the current inflation and living on a set retirement income, Tony's life insurance had lapsed and was canceled. We are raising funds to help the sons with the funeral and related expenses. Thank you in advance.
