Hi, I’m Jennifer Pifer, and this is very difficult to write. I’m raising funds for my best friend, Tonya Cummins Amato, and her family. On Sunday, August 14th, Tonya and her horse suffered a rotational fall while competing Cross Country in Aiken, SC. While running training level eventing, which she’s competed many, many times before, her horse failed to navigate the fence. The horse fell, landing on top of her, and Tonya broke her back in the thoracic region and also suffered two breaks to her neck. She is a fighter, and determined. Horses are not only her passion, but also her livelihood. She is an accomplished rider with over 45 years of experience. Tonya has a long road ahead and is supported by her daughter, Addie, and husband, Andy. She is facing several months of rehabilitation, as well as loss of income. This fundraiser will go directly toward her medical bills. They do have insurance, but as we all know, the deductibles, co-pays, and out of pocket maximum will well exceed $20,000. Please share this far and wide, anything you can contribute will help and go directly to Tonya and her family. Thank you and God Bless.
