Tonya Papenfus Medical Expenses

As many of you know, Tonya Papenfus was involved in a car accident on August 16, 2023 near her home. She sustained many injuries that required her to be extricated from the car with Jaws of Life and then a Life Flight was used to take her to Indianapolis. Once in the hospital, she received trauma surgery for a damaged bowel, compound fracture of the femur, and a fractured ankle.

An extended hospitalization and acute rehabilitation center stay will be a significant part of Tonya’s recovery. Her at-home care needs are unknown at this time, but we have been told that this will be a long haul recovery of at least six months with extensive physical therapy needed.

If you are a friend of Tonya or the Papenfus family, we have put together a fundraiser to help alleviate some of the burden of costs associated with this accident. Our goal is to raise $50,000 or more. We know that the expenses will be much more than this.
