Tony's last expenses and celebration of life.
Anthony Steven Gould
3/24/1952 – 7/30/2024
Anthony Gould, of San Jose, CA, known affectionately as Tony, a lifelong gearhead and professional mechanic, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in 1952, Tony’s fascination with cars and machines in general began in his childhood and blossomed into a remarkable 55-year career. His expertise in building high-performance rear differentials earned him a reputation as one of the best differential builders in Northern California for over 30 years. Professionally, Tony worked on almost every piece of machinery or equipment that you can imagine, including everything from massive earth movers and diesel trucks to consumer vehicles, rock climbers, drag cars, sprint cars, and historic stock cars.
Tony absolutely LOVED racing in all its forms. His passion for auto racing was unparalleled, with a special love for dirt racing. His enthusiasm for all things automotive was matched only by his love for his family. He was a devoted father to his two children, Robert and Hailey, whom he loved unconditionally while cherishing every moment spent with them.
Beyond his professional and familial commitments, Tony embraced life with a zest for new experiences, always eager to do things and go places. Tony lived life with the throttle wide open, racing and showing his beloved 1971 vintage Bulltaco literally until the day before his passing, he loved and cherished that motor like one of his children.
Tony’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, expertise, and boundless energy. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
