Toodles’s Eye Surgery

Lucky Meows Inc is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization established to rescue and improve the lives of abandoned and neglected cats and kittens in NYC. We are very small and just getting started as an official rescue organization but we have been helping save the lives of many kitties for the last 2 years as independent rescuers and fosters. Our main goal is to help through TNR (trap, neuter, return) for feral cats, foster and adoption for friendlies, and to educate and support our community to help save more lives.

We rescued Toodles in August 2023 from the crowded and not so kitty friendly streets in Jamaica, Queens. She was only 6 weeks old and her two siblings were rescued as well. This brave little kitten was born into a world of uncertainty on the unforgiving streets, where she faced more challenges than any baby should.

Toodles, in her early days, contracted a virus that left her with a painful and life-altering condition in one of her precious eyes. Despite the odds stacked against her, Toodles has grown into a remarkable survivor, filling our lives with love, joy, and endless purrs.

Toodles' journey began with a rough start as a tiny, vulnerable kitten. She was discovered in the bustling streets, where life is unforgiving, especially for a defenseless furball. Infected by a virus, her right eye suffered irreversible damage, causing her immense pain and discomfort. Despite these hardships, Toodles has grown into a loving, affectionate, and spirited young kitten. She knows no boundaries when it comes to sharing her love and charm, rubbing against our legs and cuddling her way into our hearts.

Toodles' injured eye remains a source of ongoing pain and vulnerability. The compassionate veterinarians who have been caring for her have recommended eye enucleation surgery as the best option for her long-term health and happiness.

This procedure will free Toodles from the constant discomfort she endures and open up a world of pain-free possibilities. She'll finally have the chance to see life without the burden of her damaged eye, and we can't wait to give her this opportunity.
