Top Gun Days 2022 Fund

When we first set out with the idea of the Top Gun Days 2022 event, it was going to just be a group of Top Gun VIP speakers in a room on stage sharing stories about their time on Top Gun and Topgun.

We wanted to make it free. But we quickly realised that wasn't going to be possible, so we looked at charging the lowest fee possible for tickets to cover the costs involved with the event.

Since then, the event has grown into something much bigger, spread over two days. As the event has grown, we have taken on a lot more extra costs that we hadn't foreseen, but we wanted to create a unique, once in a lifetime event for fans of the movie. An experience that they would never be able to get anywhere else or ever again in the future.

More than 1,000 man-hours have been put into the event to make sure it's the best it can be and deliver a unique experience for everyone who attends.

So that people didn't miss out on the bus tour, we laid on a second bus, but we needed to fill that bus to cover the costs involved. As of yet, we haven't done that. We have event staff that require feeding, watering, and taking care of the Top Gun VIP Speakers to ensure they're fed and watered. In addition, we have a professional still photographer and videographer to cover the entire event.

Plus room hire, liability insurance, security costs, signage, printing costs, and many other odds and ends.

All of these costs have been placed on Franks's credit card (thanks, Frank), but we're at the point where we probably won't have enough funds to cover what Frank is on the hook for after taking into account tickets and merch sales. We were hoping that's what we could achieve.

All we want to do is make sure that we break even on this event so that all of the costs involved are covered in full and that Frank isn't left making credit card payments to cover the shortfall.

This event is about making it the most unique, once in a lifetime Top Gun experience for everyone who attends. That is the number one goal.

We are, just like you, obsessed Top Gun fans who want to celebrate the legacy of this iconic movie together.

I am trying to make sure Frank isn't left with a credit card bill for the event due to the costs involved in putting it all together.
