I'm having top surgery, and I could use your help!
One indefinite postponement and three reschedulings later, I'll be getting top surgery here in Brooklyn on June 5th (with Dr. Alyssa Golas, through NYU). Very little feels joyful these days, but I am deeply happy to be moving forward and to do this good thing for my body.
Originally, I hadn't planned on raising money for this surgery. COVID-19 changed all that, unfortunately, and changes to my health insurance and lost income have me in a tough place, particularly as a performing artist whose livelihood is on indefinite hiatus.
These funds will help offset surgery-related expenses and my health insurance premiums (which trigintupled in May, a word I had to look up). I'm deeply grateful for donations of any size.
