Top Surgery for Maurice!

Hello! I'm Maurice, a Seattle based burlesque performer (Irish Lashes), social scientist, and trans man. I got approved for top surgery with my ideal surgeon this time last year. While it's covered by insurance (thanks, Obama!), I still have out of pocket expenses.

I started my gender journey when I first moved to Seattle in 2016. I started using new pronouns in 2017, and started going by Maurice in 2020, and began testosterone therapy in 2021. My legal name and gender marker change happened in 2022, and I'm so excited for top surgery in February 2024!

I'm incredibly blessed to have the social support from my partners, mom and stepdad, and community. The one missing piece is financial security to make sure I can focus on recovering and enjoying my new chest without stressing over medical bills.

$3000 will cover my insurance copay.

$500 will cover comfort items, medications, and other support.

The additional $1500 will help supplement time off work, incidentals, etc.

Anything over that is appreciated, and anything not used will be paid forward to other trans folks getting gender affirming and life changing surgery!
