Toph needs surgery to stop internal bleeding.

Hi, as many of you might know, my sister, Rowen, and I love our dog to death. She means the absolute world to us and everybody who meets her. Earlier this week, she began to throw up little bile and blood. The next day, she began to wheeze, became very lethargic, and refused to eat or drink. We took her to a vet where they tested her blood and gave her IV’s, but didn’t give us much information on what could be causing her symptoms. We gave it roughly 48 hours, constantly monitoring her breathing and waste. Toph is the sweetest, most energetic baby; she loves everyone who comes to meet her, and always has the energy to jump and run to her hearts desire. Within the past 48 hours, we saw a rapid decline in her ability to breathe, she was laying in the same spot all day to conserve breathe. Like I said, this is extremely uncommon for our baby. Today, November 19th at 12:30 am, my sister and I took her to the emergency vet because her breathing was getting worse and she started to heavily salivate. As I write this, it is 5:40 am. What we thought was a simple respiratory virus is actually internal bleeding that around her heart that is now spreading to her brain. We were told she ingested rat poisoning that is preventing her blood from clotting; therefore, blood is filling up part of her body near the heart and lungs and is now spreading up to her brain. The estimated cost for her surgeries is around $10,000 to get the medical procedures she needs to get her blood to start clotting again, so, hopefully, she can survive. Please share this to friends and family. Toph is our baby, and she does not deserve to go through any of the pain she has been going through. We appreciate any sort of help you may be willing to give. Please keep our Toph in your prayers.
Edit: We got her blood results back and as of now they are normal! So at the moment, Toph is okay and stable. She has made a 50% recovery from the poisoned blood buildup outside her lungs meaning her body has absorbed the donated plasma and is now starting to coagulate blood properly. She will be on medicine to further help absorption for the next month and then we will have to do more blood testing when that is complete. For now things have made a great and unexpected turnaround. she is doing so much better than the doctors thought she would and is able to be home with us under close supervision. We appreciate all the help and support given within not even 24 hours. We are going to pause the donations for now, which have been just enough to cover her transfusions and oxygen supply. Our girl’s a champ. It was not looking great at all in the beginning and the fees just kept building and building. with her condition in the beginning we were seriously debating euthanasia. Thanks to everyone’s thoughts, prayers, shares, and donations, it seems at least for now she will be ok. We will update and resume donations if things complicate again but we do not want to take any extra money while she’s stable. We truly appreciate everyones support. - Rowen and Ava
