Toppers Of Northwich Pina Colada Festival Yarn Bomb
Donation protected
Hi,
I am the founder of Toppers Of Northwich a community yarn bombing group that uses crafts as a medium to promote Northwich and its surrounding villages.
Working together we create some amazing pieces to bring a smile to the people in our community.
I started the group after I was involved in a road traffic accident that resulted in my receiving a spinal cord injury. Overnight I lost the use of my right leg, bowel, and bladder and was left with chronic pain. I ended up in a dark place and realised that the only person who could fix this was me, so I started a community craft and chat group.
I started with 10 members and today there are over 100 members, we meet twice a week Mondays 7-9 pm at 'The Very Green Grocery' and Thursdays 1-4 pm at Shurlach Methodist Church and also have a Facebook group for anyone who can't attend a group.
Celebrating Rupert Holmes who was born in Northwich and his iconic song Escape ( If You Like Pina Colada's) The Pina Colada Festival was born.
Every year the town celebrates with live music and of course Pina Coladas!
To celebrate with the town, we have decorated it with our unique creations.
We hope you enjoy walking around the town and visiting our 6 Post-boxes, 43 Bollard Covers, 150 Pineapples decorations, 2 8ft palm trees and a cabinet window display.
There are 200 pineapples around the town, but only 1 is called Bob. Can you find Bob the pineapple?
We are a self-funded group, so we ask if you like our work and want to see more, then please donate £3 the equivalent of a ball of yarn.
All donations received will go towards our next project
We hope you love our work and encourage people to join us and get involved.
