Torah Scroll in Memory of my Father
Tax deductible
Dear friends,
My father passed way on May 23, 2020 on the Jewish calendar, Rosh Chodesh Sivan. Many have asked how they can donate in his honor. We are writing a Torah scroll dedicated to his memory to be used by the community. A Torah scroll is Judaism’s holiest object. Every contribution of $180 will get you a letter in the Torah. Our target is $80,000 for a Torah written by one of Israel’s leading scribes and we are commencing its writing June 25, 2020, on the 30th day of Mourning for my father. On April 15, 2021 we will have a Torah Inaugural and Yom Haatzmaut (Israel's 73rd Independence Day) celebration.
The answer to all the suffering and death during the coronavirus is to affirm life. For us Jews that means writing a Torah, which is the book of life, and then studying the Torah, to live a Jewish and values-based life.
Please contribute generously.
Thank you.
