Tori run the Marathon in KK & Jo's Honour
As many of you know, I've decided to take on a significant challenge this year – running the London marathon in April 2024. Running has been an intermittent hobby of mine over the years but this training has been on an entirely other level. However, this endeavour means more to me than just a personal achievement; it's an opportunity to make a positive impact in the memory of two incredible women we lost in 2023, Kirsteen King, my beautiful best friend and Jo Livingstone, my mum's wonderful cousin. Both were taken suddenly and far far too soon.
In honour of these two wonderful women who touched our lives in massive ways, I am dedicating my marathon journey to raising funds for Women's Aid. This organization works tirelessly to support and empower women affected by domestic violence, providing them with the resources and assistance they need to rebuild their lives.
I would be so grateful if you would join me in making a difference!! I'm raising money in aid of Women's Aid Federation of England and every donation will help. Both Jo and Kirsteen were strong supporters of Women's Aid in their local areas in both their lives and in their passing so it felt only natural to continue to support this charity in their honour.
Women's Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. They have been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic violence and abuse through practice for over 40 years. They empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of our work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs.
I know that you may have many causes to support, or similar posts to read but I hope that if you can find some small way to donate to this wonderful cause I will be eternally grateful!!
Thank you and lots of love,
Tori
