Torn Labrum Replacement Hip Surgery
Donation protected
UPDATE 8/16/2022
Surgery is done, but now the real hard work begins. My insurance only covers 20 Pt sessions, and I will be using 10 of those sessions in the first ten days. After 20 sessions, I will be paying $125 per pt session. If you find value in the content and wanna support, right now would be extremely helpful. Anything and everything is greatly appreciated.
The doctors estimate I will not return to snow for 6-8 months but I have created 20 youtube videos and countless Instagram breakdowns so you will cover the entire winter. My goal is to make you as awesome as possible and this surgery will not stop me from helping you!
My doods,
This is hard for me to write and accept the fact that I'm asking for help.
6 years ago, I tore and detached my labrum in my right hip. I have been battling pain for a while now, but I recently took a minor crash while riding, which has derailed my snowboard season. After all, this time, it's finally to the point that I'm making this worse when I snowboard. I can ride to about 50% of my capacity, but I'm in extreme pain.
I've decided to finish out the season to coach my competitive snowboard team (I don't want to let the kids down). I plan on doing Summer Camp at Mount Hood and then returning home for surgery on August 18th.
I have tried numerous non-surgical options, but nothing has helped at all. The surgery could put me off snow and out of work for 6-14 months, depending on what they discover once they open me up. To me, this is the scariest part ♂️
I have dedicated my adult life to helping people overcome fear, find a deeper passion for snowboarding, and have a positive influence on the lives of others. I'm terrified of getting surgery, but my hand is being forced.
Any donation is extremely appreciated if you have found any value in the content or want to help out.
I'll be using the money to pay for surgery, physical therapy, living expenses, any unforeseen associated bills and help others by documenting this journey. I intend to kick ass with physical therapy and use this opportunity to document the process in the hope of helping others.
I appreciate all the support and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
