Tornado Destroys Home: Aid Torie's Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Torie and for the second time in just over a year, my cousin has lost her home. In December 2023, her mobile home burned to the ground while she was out to dinner.
Fortunately, she was able to move in with her son and daughter-in-law and their five kids while they figured out what to do.
Then the unspeakable happened. The home that eight people live in (with assorted dogs and cats) was hit by a tornado in Evansville, IN. Along with 40 other homes, theirs was completely destroyed.
The Red Cross was supposed to visit them today, but they have not. This tornado hit sometime between 2:30 and 3. Will (my cousin's son) was at home. He had sent the rest of the family to shelter while he tried to round up the last two dogs. He was sitting in the recliner for a moment, and the next thing he knew, he was on the ground with one dog beside him and the other covered in debris.
He was very lucky to be alive and escaped with only minor cuts and abrasions. The family heard the weather watch, but no warning, so they thought they had time.
This family needs everyone's help. Please consider donating to them. This is a lot of people displaced in one fell swoop. We have local video of their home in the aftermath by Channel 14 news. Because it isn't YouTube, I cannot post the link here. But you can email me and I will send you the link. Please title the email Tornado, so I don't lose you in my inbox. GoFundMe will not allow email addresses in the body of the request either.
I am asking you to be as generous as you can, and I, as well as my cousin and her family, thank you in advance.
