Tornado hit PepperHarrow Flower Farm
On the evening of March 5, severe storms in central Iowa sent a tornado directly through Pepper Harrow Farm in Winterset, Iowa. Their home and family is thankfully safe, but the barn, greenhouses, tunnels, and flower cottage were all destroyed. This family farm in Madison County have been familiar faces at the Des Moines Farmers Market for years, selling bouquets, wreaths and honey directly to our community. They opened their 20 acre homestead to host classes, weddings, special events and photographers on the farm that they’ve built. They have shared flowers grown by their own hands on some of our best and most special days, and it’s time for our community to help support them and make the rebuild just a little easier.
