Tornado Relief For Michele LeMay & Scott LeMay

Hello! My name is Emily Smith and I am raising money to help out my aunt and uncle, Michele & Scott LeMay. As many of you know, there were awful tornados across the country in the last week or so. Unfortunately, my wonderful aunt and uncle were among the many who got hit directly.

Michele was home alone as her husband was at work during the storms on 3/31. She only had a few minutes warning to try and gather her three cats and get down to the basement. She was able to wrangle two of her three cats downstairs to the basement before the storm hit. Thankfully, her third cat Mittens was maliciously found the next morning alive and well. After the storm had passed Michele had to wait over an hour for EMS services to get out to her as they live out in the country--many trees had been knocked down and roads were unpassable. Scott came home as quickly as he could but also had problems getting back home due to road conditions. When Michele emerged from her basement alone she began to discover just how badly her home was damaged.

All her windows have been completely blown out, the two-car garage has been completely leveled, and her carport has been destroyed. The back wall of the house has been ripped out and most of her roof is gone. This is just the beginning of all the damages substained. This house has been in our family for many generations and Michele & Scott just very recently finished renovating this home after working on it for years when they inherited it from Michele's late father.

This has been a very emotional time for them and our family as you can imagine. This house holds a lot of family memories for everyone and it's such a disaster to see something so awful happen to a family heirloom.

Michele and Scott are some of the nicest people around and their door is always open to anyone who needs help. That is why I wanted to start this GoFundMe for them. As I'm sure people can imagine or have sadly lived through, it can get very expensive after something as terrible as a natural disaster. Michele and Scott are currently staying in a motel while assessments of the house are done and they begin to figure out how to rebuild their life.
