Tornado Relief Fund supporting home restoration
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jeannine Davis, and I reside in Tampa, Florida.
After a recent natural disaster, I created this page to help my daughter Branden Davis-Butler, her husband Cody Butler, and my grandchildren Rachelle Brown and Ashton Brown.
According to the National Weather Service, on Friday, April 29th, their local community in Andover, Kansas, was hit by an EF-3 tornado. The damage to their home and automobile was extensive. In trying to address clean-up and recovery, it has proven to be difficult at the very least. Insurance companies cannot send out adjusters for at least a week to 10 days. In the meantime, they are dealing with a breached roof, broken windows, water pooling in their light fixtures and dripping from the ceiling, no access out their patio door because of damage to their back deck, destroyed fence panels on both sides of their yard and a smashed window & crushed side panels on their car. They have chosen to remain in their home for as long as possible because their family fosters numerous animals from the local shelter. They are committed to retaining these furry friends until they are ready for adoption. During this time of staff and supply shortages, it won't be easy to find contractors and supplies for all the rebuilding that their community requires. Kansas is currently in the middle of its storm season, so my goal is to expedite the insurance's "red tape" and assist them in moving forward with imperative repairs to keep their family safe.
All funds collected will go directly to the family to cover insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket costs that insurance won't cover. I hope to get the broken windows replaced if the sizes they need are available locally or can be ordered and installed next week. Donations would help pay for the immediate cost of windows so that we can address this issue promptly. They don't have time to wait weeks or months to secure their home. We anticipate that the insurance company will count this cost against their deductible.
If you are like me, wondering "why would they choose to be living in Kansas?",
Cody has been a dedicated member of the United States Air Force for the past 16 years,
"Integrity First, Service before Self, and Excellence in all we do"
and is stationed at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita.
He is proud to be serving his Country, and his family supports him in his commitment to service. Otherwise, they would probably be back in Tampa, where they first met. Please help support this military family in rebuilding their home.
Any size donation is greatly appreciated -
