As many of you know, Jim and Shannon Mallen's house in Arlington Woods was hit by a tornado on Friday September 21st. The family is in shock and dealing with the immediate aftermath of this tragic situation. I have been thinking about how I can help and how many of you can help.
For those of you who do not know, Jim and Shannon have 7 children - one of whom has special needs and requires around the clock care. I am setting up this GoFundMe Campaign in order to raise money to pay for a respite worker. I am a parent of two children with special needs - I understand how difficult everyday tasks can be when caring for complex needs kids under normal circumstances. In a tragic situation like this, the challenge must be overwhelming - hopefully with these funds we can alleviate in a small way some of the challenge.
