The Nations restaurant community has been decimated by closures due to Covid—19. Many thousands of workers are unexpectedly unemployed with little to no way to provide for themselves and their families. Toro NYC had it's last service and closed permanently March 15, 2020, and the staff will not have a restaurant home to come back to when this pandemic ends.
While there is no doubt that this was the correct course of action all need to limit the spread of the virus and keep citizens safe, the effects of the closures are financially devastating to a majority of those in the hospitality industry, and Toro was no exception.
Today, we humbly ask for your support and generosity in raising the 2-3 weeks of pay for the Toro NYC servers, cooks, and managers, dishwashers, runners, bartenders, back servers, porters and events team.
All proceeds will be distributed evenly amongst the staff. Our goal is to aid in keeping food on the tables of the people who help brought food to yours.
Time is of the essence for your support. We thank you!
Thank you - Ken, Will & Jamie & the entire Toro NYC Family
