Tortilla Flats Staff Relief

Hi everyone,
My name is Joanne. My husband Mat and I have been the owners of “the Flats” for 13 years (I have worked there for 25 years, when I started as a server!).  I have had the true pleasure of knowing the same customers for these past 25 years and I know there are plenty that have been frequenting the Flats even longer, since it’s beginning in 1973. I hear (and have seen!) countless stories of first dates, engagements, “Flats” babies and even had a couple get married at their table by a Justice of the Peace! I love hearing these stories.  I know that our place is some place special to so many people and that makes me so happy. 

I never thought in a million years I would be starting a Go Fund Me but here we are. These are strangeand worrisome times, especially for the hospitality industry and its employees. There doesn’t seem to be much hope in the form of immediate, non-loan relief,  so we are humbly asking anyone who can spare a few dollars to consider helping our AMAZING staff. More than thirty full-time employees will benefit greatly from your generous contributions during these difficult times.  

If donating isn’t an option, please consider calling, emailing or texting the Governor’s office and city and state officials and express the need for immediate relief for the hospitality industry.
