Total Swindon's Fundraiser for Swindon Women's Aid

Monday 8th March 2021 marks International Women's Day, a day in which we celebrate the inspirational and influential women here in Swindon.

Every year, here at Total Swindon, we highlight this important day by running TGT Meets Interviews with inspirational women in our local area. These interviews are a chance for women to share their experiences and incredible achievements in business.

This year, rather than charging for this service, we are encouraging those who would like to take part to donate the money to a truly amazing charity here in Swindon - Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service.

Domestic abuse has sadly increased dramatically since the start of the pandemic, which is why we want to raise as much as we can to help this amazing charity support those who really need it through these difficult times.

If you would like to take part in the IWD TGT Meets series which will be published on totalswindon.com, please click here, download the document (by pressing File > Download) fill it out and email them back to [email redacted] along with your #choosetochallenge image.

Once you have submitted your interview, any donation to SWA Swindon Domestic Abuse Service would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much.

About Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service

Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service, formerly Swindon Women's Aid, supports male and female victims of domestic abuse in Swindon and Wiltshire. Established in 1975 by Jenni Manners (MBE), it and was one of the first operational refuges outside of London. Since 1975 they have helped several thousand victims and survivors to leave their perpetrators and start new lives, free from violence and abuse. In 2019 they rebranded to become Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service (SWA).

SWA is commissioned by Swindon Borough Council to deliver a fully integrated domestic abuse service for residents within the Swindon area. They offer a 24Hr Helpline 356 days a year, answered by a trained advisor and their helpline extends across the county of Wiltshire every evening, weekend and bank holiday.

The purpose-built refuge can accommodate up to 22 families with children aged up to 18. Each of the flats is fully furnished and ranges from a bedsit to 3 bedrooms, with fully fitted kitchen, bathroom and living room, and many are adapted for disabled use.  Families can stay as long as they need to.
