Tough Mudder - The Gavin Woodhead Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
On September 21st Stuart Longley will be completing a 15km Tough Mudder to raise funds for The Gavin Woodhead Scholarship Fund. This is an extremely challenging course with 20 obstacles and Stuart will be completing the course while carrying a wooden guard rifle to honour Gavin throughout.
The Scholarship fund has been created in memory of our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend whose passion was colourguard. Gavin achieved his dream by performing in world finals at Winter Guard International (WGI) and Drum Corp International (DCI). When performing with the Cadets Drum Corp he was awarded Rookie of the Year and a distinguished award for outstanding achievement. He used the knowledge and skills he learnt in America to teach in the UK and achieved notable success.
The purpose of the scholarship fund is to provide financial assistance to a young person. They must be involved with a colourguard and be offered a place to perform at DCI or WGI in America. It is an opportunity for them to compete at the highest level. This experience will give them valuable knowledge and skills that they can then bring back to the UK.
We ask you to share this page with all your friends and family here and worldwide so we can raise as much money for this amazing fund.
We know Gavin would absolutely love this idea, his passion was always to give back to all the teams he worked with.
