TOUR DE AKY 2024

In October 2018 my best friend mick “aky” Atkinson sadly took his own life.

Aky a North Yorkshire police dog handler (pc1066) he was a massive character loved by so many and one person I never thought would do what he did.

In his memory we have started the TOUR DE AKY, a charity bike ride in which we ride 106.6miles (his collar number) going to location that have meaning to aky.

Along with the bike ride we try to do other events such as golf days and last year we did the first JUNIOR TOUR DE AKY, in which children as young as 5years old cycled 10.66miles and hope to repeat this again this year.

 This is the 6th year of the event and we continue to try and raise awareness into mental health and encourage people to talk. Whilst also raising much needed funds for three amazing charities of MIND, YORKSHIRE AIR AMBULANCE & ANDYS MAN CLUB
