Towards a Safer Living Conditions for my Mother

Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Mamadou Doucoure; I recently received my undergraduate degree from The Rutgers University and am a current graduate student and player for the La Salle University Men’s Basketball team. This is my second year attending the University as I am pursuing my Masters in Strategic Communication. I am originally from Mali, West Africa and I have been in America for 9 years. When I was 14, I had the chance to come to America to pursue my dream of playing basketball and receive an education. Although I was excited about the opportunity, I knew it meant leaving the life I knew behind and, most importantly, leaving my hardworking mother. She raised me on her own as a single mother. When she first received the news about me coming to the United States, she was instantly hesitant about allowing her youngest child to not only leave her home but move thousands of miles away from her. However, in the end, she realized this opportunity would open endless possibilities for my education and basketball career that I wouldn't have if I stayed in Mali. She made the ultimate sacrifice, which is why I am starting this go-fund on behalf of my mother Djeneba Doucoure, who currently resides in Mali, West Africa.
For 20 years my mother has been living in the same home where the living environment has become unsafe and unsanitary due to uncontrollable mold and crowded living space she shares with a family of 15 to make ends meet and survive. Due to the deteriorating condition of the home, there have been leaks through the ceiling, which unfortunately caused her to fall and fracture her leg one night as she was headed to the restroom. This injury affected her ability to work and make any stable income.
As an athlete, I send my mother the majority of any scholarship money I receive from the institution, so I can help her with her basic needs. However, most times this leaves me without enough for my own basic needs. Still, she's worth every cent of that sacrifice. While I'm grateful I can help her when needed, I do not make enough to get her out of those uninhabitable living conditions. My main priority and goal is to help her build a home that allows her to live safely and comfortably. As a full-time student and athlete, it's impossible to help my mother financially achieve this goal on my own. If you can, I’d greatly appreciate any donation to help me accomplish this goal. All of your contributions will go directly to my mother in assisting her in building a new home. Thank you in advance for your contribution
