The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented, and has had a severe impact on small businesses throughout Chicago. The employees of your favorite restaurants and bars are now in a position where they don't know where their next paycheck will come from, or when.

We're alive in frightening times, but here's the good news: we can all make it through to the other side by helping to hold each other up. This is a chance to show the world, and our neighbors, the best possible versions of ourselves. The ones that our moms would be proud of. Truthfully, this is the easiest, and best, way to make a difference.

The bartenders at Town Hall Pub have been out of work for over two
weeks now, and chances are it's going to be a while longer before the bar is up and running again. These are the people who served you cheap beer while listening to you talk about awkward family gatherings, the people who didn't complain when you put $20 in the jukebox and just played Robyn's "Dancing on My Own" 40 times, the people who tolerated you hitting on them even though they KNEW you weren't going to tip.

That is to say, these are the people who have been there for you at your best and your worst, and now they need you to be there for them. 

I mean it when I say that every little bit helps. Are you drinking a PBR at home? Just pretend Kim served it to you, and tip a dollar. Did you try to make a Long Island Iced Tea using the mystery liquor still left in your apartment? Throw Chris a couple of bucks. Is there a fancy cupcake in your house for some reason? Remember all of the times that Laura has made baked goods, and give her the money she deserves.

All joking aside, any money you donate will be literally life-changing in this uncertain time, helping to pay for food, rent, and all that black market toilet paper. You all mean the absolute world to us. Plus, this is the first time you'll be able to tip a THP employee on a credit card, and don't you want to be a part of history?
