10th Annual Toys for Joy Fundraiser

GIFTS (Giving to Individuals and Families Through Service) is presenting its 10th Annual Toys 4 Joy drive from December 1st - 19th
With your donations we will donate books to Rosemount Center in DC who provides comprehensive early childhood education and family support programs in a bilingual multicultural settings to local low-income families. We will purchase toys in the My Sister's Place DC- Toy Drive. This organization is a local DC first domestic violence shelter and Batterer Intervention group. Lastly for local donations we will Sponsor a Special Education Class Field Trip at Montgomery Village Middle School. A Special Ed teacher at Montgomery Village Middle School needs funds to organize a field trip for 45 students. We would like to support their efforts since MCPS has limited funds for field trips. Montgomery Village Middle School falls within our target children as majority students are of color and families are low income.
Internationally, once again we will be donating toys to Sembradores de Ilusiones students. The school is located in an impoverished town in Chambo, Ecuador. Secondly, we will be partnering with Manos Amigas in Ahuachapan, El Salvador. We were able to participate in the distribution of toys Manos Amigas already organizes. It is a pleasure to work with them as we share a similar mission.
This year 20% of contributions will be going to GIFTS to support our continuous efforts to provide charitable relief and assistance to individuals and families in DC, MD, VA and Latin American countries throughout the year and during the holidays.
