Toys for the children's hospital & Trevor Mann
Donation protected
Hi I wanted to start a fundraiser because my baby boy born back in August this year was born without a bottom.
Less than 24 hours after birth he was taken from me into intensive care soon rushed to Brighton hospital and onto the Trevor man baby unit. 12 hours later he was taken into theatre to create a stoma to allow for food output.
There was no where for me and my partner to stay at the hospital as it was full so ended up paying out nearly £1000 on accommodation, travel and food during our baby boys time in hospital. Our baby boy pulled through and is a real trooper so managed to get home at 7 days old. Because of his health this has restricted us from doing so much including not having too many visitors to protect him from getting poorly especially knowing he was so vulnerable and that he was to have further operation in no more than 2 months after birth. There has been so many medical appointments that it's restricted us further from doing too many fun things as a family.
Anyway our baby boy has recently undergone his second surgery but unfortunately came across a huge complication which resulted in him being taken back to theatre just 2 days later as an emergency which they had to create a second stoma. We've been in hospital at the Royal Alexander hospital for almost 2 weeks, its been extremely stressful, emotional and exhausting and so needing a well needed break as a family once we are able to do so safely.
Having spent this time at the hospital there are notices up around for donations towards toys, sensory items and anything great for the children's stays in hospital to be as nice as they possibly can be.
I wanted to set up this fundraising site in the hope that we can raise enough to give so much back to this hospital.
Hopefully be able to put the donation towards as much as possible for what they need.
If your able to donate we thank you very very much.
