Help Our Hometown Hero!

Tuesday, July 13, 2021, started like any other day, however, the events that unfolded that morning were anything but routine.

An undercover investigator for the Racine County Sheriff's Department was filling up the gas tank of his unmarked car at 7:30 am at a local gas station. Little did he know that in the blink of an eye his life would be forever changed as the undercover investigator took fire from a Hartland man who had total disregard for human life. The investigator was able to neutralize the threat, but not before he was shot multiple times himself, resulting in a broken pelvis and other injuries.

Our community is in great debt to this selfless hero. The Sheriff stated that it was apparent the shooter would have probably killed more people, had the investigator not stopped him. No one will ever know the extent this tragedy could have reached if not for this hometown hero.

The investigator, whose name is being withheld for security reasons, is currently in the hospital and has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He is a strong, brave, and determined man, and we have no doubt that he will recover... but let's rally around him and his family to show how grateful we are for his selfless act. We would like to raise funds to assist this hero and his family during his recovery.
