Musa, the Heart Soldier

I am a 8 year old fighter born with a tiny heart. In medical terms, it is called a single ventricular heart where one of the lower chambers of the heart (ventricle) is smaller and underdeveloped.

I went through Pulmonary Artery (PA) band surgery shortly after my birth in Pakistan, to be followed by more complex Fontan procedure (heart surgery) when I was bit older. However, there was a significant delay in my further treatments due to limited resources and expertise in Pakistan.

Thanks to your financial support and prayers, I was able to travel to India in June 2024 for the Fontan procedure at Marengo Asia Hospital by Dr Rajesh. Unfortunately, by the time I reached India for surgery, the prolonged strain on my heart had caused my heart walls to harden, making it unsuitable for doctors to complete the entire Fontan procedure at once. As a result, only the first stage of the surgery (Bidirectional Glenn+ left AV valve repair) could be performed to stabilize my condition and prepare my heart for future inventions.

Sadly, I do not have much time left. I immediately require Stage 2 of the Fontan procedure. But the doctors in Pakistan or India are unable to perform the necessary surgery to save me due to lack of appropriate equipment.

However, there is hope.

Boston Children Hospital, USA has the expertise and appropriate surgical treatment available to save my life. The surgery requires an amount of USD 278,526 (equivalent to GBP 228,891) excluding all the travelling and lodging, visa fees and other treatments or care. All the medical reports and notes from my physicians can be provided to verify my condition.
