THE AVERY FOUNDATION EMERGENCY FUNDRAISER
We are in a financial crisis and need your help. In 2019, we committed over $44,863 in veterinary care and thousands more on food, litter and supplies. With over $11,000 still owing on our veterinary tab we’ve had to close intake and it’ll remain closed until we’ve got our finances in order.
This past year has been one of triumph and defeat for The Avery Foundation. In 2019, we cared over 120 cats and 3 dogs and found loving forever homes for 91 of those animals - more than we ever have before.
Our cause is mighty but we are small. We are passionate about animal welfare but we are young and volunteering doesn't pay the bills. With full-time jobs, schooling, illness, and our numbers dwindling, we have been stretched to our utmost limits. And even after hosting 46 fundraisers and events to raise money for vet care and supplies it has still left us dangerously in debt, with intake closed, and kitten season fast approaching.
We have no "home base" or "shelter". We are 100% foster-based and volunteer-run and there are currently 40 cats and 1 dog waiting in foster care - all deserving of forever homes. Some with unique medical challenges that require more care than others. We cannot keep our promises to these animals without your help. We cannot pay down the $11,000 in vet bills owing without your help. We will not be able to open intake again without your help. Please, we can't do this alone. Now, more than ever, we need the support of our wonderful community.
PLEASE HELP BY MAKING A DONATION TODAY.
Donations can also be made by e-transfer to [email redacted]
Or directly on our account at the Glebe Pet Hospital in person or over the phone by calling (613)-233-8326.
