Help After House Fire

On Aug. 19, 2022, I left a lit candle unattended before I went to volunteer. I believe my cat, Goose, caught my bedroom curtains on fire. Goose is safe but we on the other hand cannot return home until the repairs are made. The fire was so large it went through the roof.

Our house belongs to my grandma and we found out she doesn’t have homeowner’s insurance.

My parents are stressed and I feel helpless. However they’re very understanding and let me know that despite the accident, they have lots of love for me.

My mom’s been a teacher for over 20 years and helped many families in situations like ours. My parents nicknamed our cat, Goosifer, and said he cannot return until repairs are made.

If you are able to give or share, I’d appreciate it. I'd really like to have a house and my cat back.
