Benjamin's Mission to Uganda
Donation protected
Hello,
-My name is Benjamin. I used to be a rowdy punk rock guy in a band where I traveled around the country in a van and played music for my own glory. Then one day I met Jesus... A lot has changed since then.
-Now I teach and lead worship to teenagers. I spend much of my time with the church.
-One evening after youth, one of my student was telling me about her mother and her recent trip to Africa. It got hairy real quick. Without getting too much into it, this is a very dark place where bad things happen and they need the light of Christ.
-I had never had the itch to go be a "missionary". Not for me, but all of a sudden, God tugged on my heart and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I prayed for Him to confirm this or make me forget about it. He confirmed it. Later that month, in church, my pastor spoke about Africa and the need they have for Jesus.
-The trip is to Uganda. In January of 2017, I will be living out of a backpack for 2 weeks with a group of like-minded individuals. I gotta get shots and a passport and airplane tickets... lots to do. I will need the funds by November to make sure all my stuff is good.
-Also, I've got to shave my beard. The Uganda people don't trust men with long beards, they would think I was Muslim. So I gotta trim it up all professional looking(short). I like my beard, but for whatever reason, I like the idea of sharing Jesus with these people more... so i'm ok with it.
-The group is called Marathon Missions . It's legit. They do this a couple/few times a year. Traveling from island to island until they've all heard the gospel.
-If you like the idea of me with a short beard, on a boat, heading to an island with no electricity, winning souls, falling in love with a people I know little about.... please consider donating to my trip. If you can't afford to donate, please pray.
-God bless,
-Benjamin
