Ally Purple Heals Mother Daughter
3 years ago September 2013, Alyssa was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. Our entire family was faced with such horrifying news. At such a young age, Ally, as everyone knows her has always been a strong, educated, athletic loving mother....daughter..... niece.....sister ... friend. With the news that felt as if a train had hit us, we knew we had to stay strong. Not just for us as a family but for Alyssa and her soon to be 3 year old baby girl Aubrey Jade. Alyssa has endured chemo & a major surgery on January 19 2014. Her oncologist had prepared us for the worst and a huge 50/50 chance of making it out of her 8-9 hour surgery. After her surgery, Alyssa faced a long time of recovery... continued chemo... & with more bad news, Alyssa had developed a tumor in her right lung, fluid had built up in the lung due to chemo medication, along w/ many small infections. Not to mention, many in and out visits to the emergency room. Thanks to the POWER OF PRAYER, & Alyssa's AMAZING doctor, she removed 99% of her cancer in her abdomen. After Alyssa was off of chemo for a few months, the tumor & fluid in her lung, literally disappeared!! No trace of fluid, & no trace of a tumor. Again, POWER OF PRAYER! Most recently however, this year-2015 we were hit with more bad news. Alyssa was given news of a 1cm mass above her bladder, causing blockage to her ureters. So here we are with another fight. There are some things that I did leave out regarding her daily struggles she has to go through on a daily, but for her privacy reasons. Her latest surgery was stint placements, which ended up causing a UTI, & led to a second surgery of removal of the stints. This is a very difficult time in our lives and as her mother NO ONE knows my hurt and pain and when Alyssa stumbles from time to time. She is tired of her daily struggles and pain..... We continue to pray that ONLY God can heal her. Recently as she started on another few rounds of chemo, we were told she is a candidate for MD ANDERSON in Houston Tx! MDAC has a trial medication that has worked wonders on other cancer patients with the same issues as Alyssa. SO, now here we are. Alyssa's medical insurance initially DENIED HER & was not going to cover any medical bills when it came to MDAC. We then had to deal with the question of, WELL I GUESS CHEMOTHERAPY HERE IN SAN ANTONIO TX. That was our only option until Alyssa's physician assistant fought on her behalf, made numerous calls to her insurance, MD Anderson, & worked some tough magic with determination. This ended up having Alyssa's insurance over turn their decision, & approve her for acceptance at MD Anderson. However, she will be dealing with commuting to & from Houston for treatment & appointments, lodging and food... All in which she will have to pay for out of pocket, alone.. This funding source will definitely help Alyssa & her family! #TEAM ALLY has a huge support system.... AND AS HER MOTHER, with a strong heart I APPRECIATE EVERYONE who has come around with their support, love and prayers for Alyssa, 25yrs old and her 2 yr old Aubrey Jade. I will keep updating you all as her FIGHT to LIVE & not giving up is OUR FIRST PRIORITY.
WE LOVE U ALYSSA MARIE.
IF MOMMY COULD TAKE THIS ALL AWAY, IT WOULD BE DONE.
