UPDATE
It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Aisha Geiger. This is not the way we intended to #BringAishaHome however, with the contributions we’ve received thus far we have been able to transport her from Puerto Rico to a proper funeral home. We appreciate every prayer, share, donation we’ve received thus far and ask that you’ll don’t stop now. This is a hard time for my family and I, as we do need further assistance to tend to her arrangements. She did not have life insurance due to her illness so we need all the help we can get. This is not how it’s suppose to be. This is not how her story was suppose to end. We are not okay.! We appreciate the continuous love, prayers, and donations.
Hi, my name is Kyesha. My Auntie Aisha is a 32 year old who lives with Sickle Cell Anemia. She has two amazing little boys that she lives for everyday. She went to Puerto Rico for her birthday, and on the airplane to go home she couldn't breathe. The airlines called the paramedics and her oxygen level was so low that they told her she couldn't fly home without getting clearance from a pulmonary Dr. So Currently she’s in a Sickle Cell Crisis / with Acute Chest Syndrome - Blood Clots in her leg and experiencing Respiratory failure. She’s been hospitalized there since the 25th of September and as of last night she had to be intubated due to going into distress. The hospital she’s currently in is not experienced with Sickle Cell and lacks the basic necessities needed for her care. We’re asking for donations to cover the Mede-Vac (air ambulance) and medications that will be needed for her to travel home. Her insurance will not cover the cost due to her being there more then 20 days we have to pay out of pocket. My Grandma has been blogging and gives often updates on Aisha’s care via https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/aishasstory please feel free to follow her care journal. All we want is for her to get to her home hospital safely so that she can get the care she needs. Any donations will help thank you all in advance!
