RENA'S FIGHT

My very dear friend Rena is 45 years old and was diagnosed with breast cancer this past January.  For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary human being.  She is cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong and always puts her friends and family before herself. 

She began 4 months of chemotherapy treatments in March. Followed by lumpectomy surgery in August. The surgery was successful, however traces of the cancer still remains and radiation therapy will be needed.

Because of this, she has been unable to work since August and will likely not be able to return until mid November.  Short term disability unfortunately does not provide full pay.  There is no radiation therapy available in the Virgin Islands so she had to temporarily relocate to the mainland to get the treatments she needs. Some of her medical expenses are not covered and with the everyday necessities of life, money is getting tighter and tighter.  

Rena is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support or the shirt off her back to anyone that needs it.
