Megan's Medical Mission
Donation protected
After my medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic over the summer, I have decided to take my first solo trip to join "Hope and Home" for a trip to Kathmandu, Nepal.
It is difficult to describe what it is like to experience volunteer travel in Nepal -volunteering with likeminded individuals from around the world in the midst of fascinating landscapes, warm-hearted locals and customs and traditions dating back centuries.
This organzation provides many different types of relief to underserved areas. According to my volunteer organization, remote health clinics in Nepal struggle to attract qualified doctors and medically trained personnel, let alone acquire sufficient equipment and medicine. Volunteers on the Remote Health Post project in Nepal work in rural health clinics and assist local medical staff in performing day-to-day tasks. Tasks can include dressing wounds, drawing blood, screening and organizing patients, collecting medicines and generally helping in whatever capacity they are required. There is also the need to conduct seminars to motivate and educate local villagers on healthcare initiatives. I am excited to take this next step and continue to broaden my horizons as a healthcare worker and volunteer.
All donations will be going directly to getting me there and providing vital supplies needed to keep this amazing organization running! Please donate, share, and give any support that you can. Nothing is too small and every bit is appreciated! Thank you!
