Keanu's Chance for an ASL Adventure

Hi I'm Keanu! I am reaching out to ask for your support to help me get to the Lion's Wilderness Camp for Deaf Children in Wrightwood California. Living on Kaua'i, where we do not have a strong Deaf community and very few peers with hearing loss is tough! I'm learning American Sign Language (ASL) but l've never had the chance to be fully immersed in an environment where I can communicate in ASL with others my age or meet friends my age who face the same challenges I do. The camp is run by Deaf and Hard of Hearing counselors who used to be campers themselves. It offers opportunities for hiking, fishing, swimming, archery, rock climbing, basketball, volleyball and many other cool activities.

I need to raise $3,000 to cover:

• Camp tuition

• Airfare

• A chaperone

• Hotel accommodations

• A possible Disneyland trip (with help from the Deaf community)

This fundraiser is about more than just attending camp. It's about empowering me to embrace my identity, learn about the Deaf community and culture, build lifelong friendships, and experience the joy of connecting with others who understand their world. These opportunities are rare on Kauai, and this experience could leave a lasting impact on my life.
