Help Audrey Fight Cancer

10 years after losing her husband to cancer, Audrey was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer Small Cell Carcinoma. This is rectal cancer with characteristics of lung cancer which makes it an aggressive form of cancer. It is known to spread all over. There is less than a 1% chance of having this type of cancer in the location she has it. Roswell Cancer Center only deals with about 2 cases per year. On November 26th 2021 a scan was performed confirming the best outcome possible, the cancer was localized and the mass had not changed in size! Being a grandmother to 9 grandchildren with 6 of them under the age of 12, she wanted to fight and beat this. Fighting involves at least 4 rounds of chemotherapy and 28 rounds of radiation.

After recent rounds of chemotherapy her body crashed, causing hospitalizations. She received shots to increase white blood cell counts, pints of blood, magnesium , potassium and antibiotics. She is weak and is now starting physical therapy with at least two more rounds of chemotherapy to go.

She sees the Oncologist every 3 weeks for a follow up visit and bloodwork. Chemotherapy is 3 days in a row every 21 days. Both are in Buffalo, 1 hour and 40 minutes away. Radiation is local and 5 days a week.
