Support Makayla's Fight Against Cervical Cancer

My name is Makayla, I’m 25 years old, and I was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer that has already begun to spread within my cervix.

I'm a proud mom to a beautiful 5-year-old daughter who is my entire world. Every decision I make is with her in mind; her well-being, her future, her happiness. This diagnosis has shaken our lives in ways I never could have imagined, and while I’m doing everything I can to stay strong and fight this, I’m scared.

Due to the nature of my diagnosis and treatment, I need to take an extended leave from work. Unfortunately, I’m not on my job's insurance plan, which means I can’t apply for short-term disability or get financial help through my employer. Right now, the weight of medical bills and the loss of income is becoming overwhelming.

I’ve always been the type of person to handle things on my own, and asking for help isn’t easy. But the reality is...I need it. I’m doing my best to keep my head above water, to stay positive, and to stay strong for my daughter. I never want her to feel the burden of what we’re going through. I never want to burden my family either, but this is more than I can manage alone.
