Tracey's fight against cancer
Donation protected
Hey y'all. This is hard for me to even write but here we go. My mother, Tracey, has cancer. She has been very very sick these last 8 months. After numerous misdiagnoses of other lung related illness, they found a tumor pressing up against her esophagus. That contributed to her not being able to eat for 5 days, which resulted in her dropping down to 75 pounds. She is currently in the hospital, for how long we do not know. She started radiation and chemotherapy. She will be losing her hair, but she's in good spirits.
These last 8 months have been hard on her and Bob, her husband, financially and emotionally. She missed a lot of work due to her undiagnosed illness and that put strain on them. For those of you who don't know us personally, Bob has had multiple sclerosis since he was in his early 20's. For those of you who don't know this disease gets progressively worse over time. Due to his illness Bob's doctor has been pushing for him to retire and go on full term disability. Unfortunately my mother is a type 1 diabetic, she's had diabetes since she was 7 years old, and she needs his health insurance to afford the insulin to survive. So because he values her health over his, he has not left his job even though his health is declining rapidly.
As mom's illness progressively gets worse before it can get better, she'll inevitably have to drop down to part time. As it stands she won't go back to work for a few weeks as it is. The hospital bills alone could devastate them. Not to mention the house is not handicapable for either of them in their conditions. I'd love to be able to make it easier for them to live in their home without any obstacles to overcome.
This is my outreach, my call to arms, my phone tree list, whatever you wanna call it. I need your help. Over the years my mom has done so many amazing things for my friends and people she has never even met. All because she believes that kindness is essential in everyone life. She's always quick with a smile and a have a nice day, she is an amazing woman who has gone above and beyond for me my entire life. When we took the foster girls in and planned to adopt them she accepted them as her own regardless of what biology had to say. She is one if a kind and I would do anything to help her.
It is hard for me being on the other side of the country from her. I can't imagine how hard it is for her to be isolated in a room not knowing how this will all play out. Please help me help her. Any amount helps, everything adds up in the end. Share this, tell your friends. Help me figure out fundraisers I am open to any and all suggestions. I just want to be able to help her and take care of her the way she's always taken care of everyone else before herself. It is because of her I am the mother I am today. It is because of her strength and love that have made so many of us better over time.
Thanks for taking to time to read my plea. I appreciate any help given.

Stephanie
