Tracy Chipman's Recovery from Surgery
Donation protected
Many of you know and love my friend, Tracy Chipman. She is recovering from surgery and in need of our support.
In late June, Tracy discovered a large mass in her lower abdomen. After a series of diagnostic tests, she learned this mass was on her uterus. There were markers indicating it could be cancer and other markers indicating it could be a rare post-menopausal fibroid. The nature of the mass wouldn’t be known until it was removed and biopsied.
On July 19 she had an abdominal total hysterectomy at St Mary’s/Essentia in Duluth. The procedure went well and thankfully, pathology revealed the mass was benign. Now her task is to fully recover from the surgery.
Due to the procedure and the physical limitations of the six-week recovery time, Tracy had to cancel many of her summer storytelling performances and other work obligations.
Recovery is going well, and we're immensely grateful for the support Tracy's receiving during this vulnerable time from her partner Patrick, local friends, and a wonderful community of women from all over the world. The big challenge right now is a financial one. The loss of income at what is normally the busiest time of year for her, and the unexpected burden of hospital bills is stressful. So I'm reaching out to our community far and wide to help Tracy through this time. All donations go directly to Tracy and are very much appreciated. Every little bit helps.
Thank you for your consideration, and for taking action if you are able. If making a financial donation at this time isn’t possible, there are other ways to support Tracy during her recovery:
*Purchase her book! In March, Tracy published her first book, Borealis Mundi – Resting in Place, Loss & Grace, which is available directly through her website www.tracychipman.net/seasonal, local bookstores AND worldwide through Amazon: https://a.co/d/1pm6lfG. It's such a gorgeous, deep, beautifully written memoir!! I highly recommend it. :)
*Support Tracy's art as an oral storyteller, somatics guide and writer: work with her 1:1 or in any of the ways she shares her gifts with the world. Become a patron through her Patreon site - https://www.patreon.com/tchipman_storyteller. Book a storytelling house concert or sponsor a public telling. Visit Tracy's website for more info and to contact her directly: www.tracychipman.net
Thank you for receiving this and helping out in any way you are able.
