Tracy Stevens Memorial Fund
Donation protected
My family and I are reaching out for assistance to cover the expenses involved with the cremation process and memorial service for our mother, Tracy Stevens. She passed in her home unexpectedly before dawn on Monday, October 17th. This tragedy occurred only weeks after she had hip replacement surgery and has devasted Tracy's family and friends. We were, unfortunately, incredibly unprepared to undertake the endeavor of laying Tracy to rest and providing the memorial services she wanted and deserved.
Currently, the family is making the arrangements Tracy expressed she wanted; however, the payments must be made in advance. We are using Leaf Cremation of Ohio for the cremation, and upon receiving her ashes, we hope to hold a memorial service in her honor. We have negotiated the lowest price in our area for these services and split the payment into two parts. We must first raise $495 (plus any taxes or fees). Your donations will allow up to 10 immediate family members to conduct a Private Family ID viewing, in which they can see her say their final goodbyes. Immediately after the ID viewing, we need to raise an additional $896.50 total to pay upfront for the cremation. Finally, our last goal is to use the additional funding to hold a small memorial service for Tracy, inviting family and friends to come together in her honor, share memories, celebrate her life, and release commemorative lanterns.
Tracy was disabled and a recipient of SSI for most of her life, so she was not in a financial position to have pre-paid for her final expenses. She also had no life insurance, as her diagnosis of COPD made that nearly impossible. We have scrambled together to search for programs that may assist, but they are not available in the capacity we need. As I have explained, the family has decided to ask for donations from anyone compelled to help; any assistance we receive will go towards the final cost. No donation is too small; in reality, any gift over the .30 transaction fee will be immensely appreciated and helpful. The cost of the entire process is roughly $1,750. We hope to reach the first goal within a week and the second within a few days. The actual memorial service is the last to occur as we need her ashes present, so we are hoping to have the funding for that when her ashes become available.
Tracy was the mother of three, Dale, Andy, and Dottie Stevens. She left behind eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A life can be measured by the impact someone has on the people around them, so while Tracy was taken too soon, she will be sorely missed and greatly remembered.
We are deeply grateful for any contribution you could make towards our efforts. I will post updates as we reach our goal(s). The gift you are giving goes beyond money; you are impacting the lives of an entire family. Truly Thank You!
