Tracy Turner ~ Horrific Motorcycle Accident

Donation protected
As a longtime friend of Tracy Turner, a former teammate for the Raleigh Police Department softball team, and now her current neighbor and great friend, to say that Tracy and I go way back, is an understatement – She is family.

As many of you have come to hear, Tracy was in a horrific motorcycle accident on Thursday January 12th, 2023, and the fact that she is still with us today is an absolute miracle in itself!

Tracy spent 30 years with the Raleigh NC Police Department climbing through the ranks, becoming the first female officer in the Motorcade Unit, later retiring as a Lieutenant and just a year and a half into her retirement, her entire life has been changed.

As Tracy was riding her motorcycle Thursday afternoon, an individual who was under the influence crossed left of the center line, hitting Tracy head-on. Tracy was facing life-threatening injuries while lying on the side of the road. Thanks to the quick-thinking actions of a nearby witness to the accident who took off his belt to apply an initial tourniquet, as well as a responding deputy who also applied a medical tourniquet, and the entire Novant ER Staff, Tracy is still with us today.

However, in order to save Tracy’s life, the surgeons were unable to save Tracy’s left leg, which had to be removed above the knee. Tracy is also facing additional surgery for a fractured pelvis, and surgery to repair multiple fractures on her left arm.

The road to recovery will be long and arduous, and I have no doubt that Tracy will face each challenge with the ‘get it done” attitude that we all have witnessed over the years and have come to know and love.

There has been an outpouring of support across the miles by former men and women in blue, current neighbors, friends, family, and work associates who have asked how they can help.

While each request is certainly appreciated, at this given moment, we are still at the mercy of the surgeons who will be performing the two remaining surgeries.

If you would like to support your sister in blue, with the knowledge that the recovery will be a long challenging process, we have created a Go Fund Me page to show Tracy the amount of love and support that is pouring in from so many people who love her, admire her many accomplishments and want to show support towards her recovery.

Any funds that are raised will be primarily used to “Pay it Forward” to those who helped save her life, as well as to make adaptive changes to the home to ensure Tracy has a safe environment in which to recover.

We thank you all in advance for helping Jenn and Tracy work towards overcoming this life-altering event. This recovery is going to take a village… and we are so happy to be surrounded by so much love and support
