Tracy’s Medical Expense Fund

On March 9th, our family received devastating news when Tracy’s MRI revealed a large, inoperable brain tumor. She was sent that day from GRMC to The University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics where she was admitted to undergo a brain biopsy procedure the following day. On March 16th, when the phone call came, we were not prepared to receive the biopsy results, indicating that we are facing an aggressive, grade IV Glioblastoma. Our worlds have seemingly stopped as we absorb the shock and begin this difficult chapter of pursuing treatment and prioritizing the most important things in life. We begin our battle fighting this cancer with radiation and chemotherapy on April 5th in Iowa City. Phase one includes 34 radiation treatments over seven weeks coupled with daily chemo. Our faith is in a God bigger than anything. We believe in miracles and the power of prayer. We are encouraged by and are manifesting in HOPE. The bigger the giant, the greater the victory. 

Our family wants to thank you for all of the prayers, cards, messages, phone calls received. The overwhelming love and support and words of encouragement are felt deeply and appreciated by all. As our family navigates the days ahead we ask for understanding and empathy as it is difficult to show just how much your support means to us. Time is a gift we hold tighter than ever before and our focus is to be present and make the most of each day.
