Traffic Jam Employee Fund
Donation protected
Traffic Jam and Snug, a restaurant and micro-brewery that has been a Midtown staple since 1965, was ravaged in a fire on Friday, May 27. Luckily no one was physically injured, but the tragedy has left behind many broken hearts. Especially for the 20+ employees that called Traffic Jam home, some of which have been working there for over 20 years.
This fundraiser was created to help support those left without work this week as they transition into their new endeavors. As we’ve seen through the outpouring of love and support, Traffic Jam’s staff is tight-knit, creative, and truly has a sense of family.
Thankfully, the Detroit restaurant community has already stepped up and recruited Traffic Jam employees to fill positions in other places. Lord knows many places are desperate for staff. We are confident that all employees will be back on their feet in no time, but we’re hoping to supplement the wages lost until they do. Two weeks without work, paired with the trauma of your job going up in flames, is devastating and we’re determined to make it as seamless as possible.
If you have ever enjoyed an order of Help me Elvis, I’m in a Pickle!, a bowl of the mushroom soup (my personal fave) or a Chocolate Chip Cookie in a Fancy Dress, consider donating a few dollars to the hard working people and friendly faces that have made it possible the last few decades.
