Tragic and sudden loss of friends and employment.

My name is Preston Hoeger.

On my day off Wed. 2/15/23 some time around 4 in the afternoon. My life changed forever and I would not know it till the following morning.

I lost my 2 best friends, my employment, and my stability.

I have worked at Don Johle's Bike World for 18 years. It has been my passion and my privilege to help new riders just starting, or the seasoned rider to keep rolling. At the shop we did everything. From new bike sales to service. We all loved what we did day in and day out. We did it as friends, coworkers, and family.

I need a lot of help now and it feels like begging. I am a proud and stubborn person. I no longer have income and do not wish to lose my vehicle. I am going to need some counseling. I know it may seem like a lot to some and not enough to others. I had a simple life and lived paycheck to paycheck as many people do now. One check was for rent the other was for my car.

I miss it all. I have been and still am lost. The 2 most important people I would talk to about an issue like this are gone.

The stability of having something to do, and a place to go when I wake up is no longer available.

All of this has led me here. I do not want to ask for help in this way. But I know I need to so I can keep pushing forward and trying to make the best of each day and get back on my feet.
