Tragic Fire Took Their Lives—Help Us Say Goodbye & Recover
Donation protected

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
We are heartbroken to share that our beloved mother, Margarita Arevalo, and stepfather, Javier Reyes, recently passed away in a devastating house fire.
Our family came to this country as migrant farm workers, and from a young age, we all worked alongside our parents to achieve the dream of owning a home. Through years of hard work and sacrifice, we were finally able to purchase the house - a symbol of everything we had built together. In recent years, our mother became disabled and was living on a fix income, which unfortunately meant the home was uninsured. Losing them and seeing the home our family worked so hard for destroyed has left us not only grieving but also facing an overwhelming financial burden.
The fire was so severe that the fire department had to demolish more than half of the house while working to contain it. However, the remaining structure still needs to be taken down, and the property must be cleaned up. In addition to funeral expenses and property cleanup, we are facing other unexpected costs as we navigate this difficult time.
We are reaching out for help during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter the amount, will bring us closer to giving them the farewell they deserve and help us begin rebuilding after this tragedy. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
With love and gratitude,
