Tragic Mennonite Buggy Crash, Critical Injuries
Donation protected
On August, 9 2020 at approximately 5:30 pm Matthew and Katrina Sensenig and their five children were on their way home, riding in a horse drawn carriage when a reckless driver crossed a double yellow line and attempted to pass them on a hill. The driver smashed into their carriage, ejecting all of them, including their 7 month old infant son, into an adjacent field. Four family members in critical condition were taken via Mercy Flight helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY . Their horse had to be euthanized at the scene of the accident, and the buggy as you can see in the photo was demolished. Their family faces staggering medical bills, lost farm income , the loss of their carriage which is their sole means of transportation, their horse, and a very lengthy recovery. In addition to having a young family and working farm, Matthew was a volunteer fireman in the town of Benton, NY in past years. Matthew and Katrina are wonderful people, and all the funds will go directly to their family to help them recover from this terrible accident.https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/10/us/new-york-buggy-crash-baby-injured-trnd/index.html
