Tragic Murder-Suicide - Rachel Stolpa Madden

Thank you for your attention. I’ll be brief.

Recently, on Wednesday, September 14th, tragedy struck our family. My wife Whitney’s twin sister (Rachel) was brutally murdered at her place of employment by her husband just before he killed himself.

Rachel was an incredible mother to Eric who lost both of his parents in the most horrific way imaginable.

I am asking first and foremost that you pray for comfort, strength and wisdom for my family. I am especially heartbroken for my mother-in-law Carrie Stolpa (Whitney and Rachel’s mother) and for Eric. The day after her daughter was murdered, Carrie spent the morning in courtrooms trying to get custody of her grandson and then at the funeral home making arrangements for her daughter.

Unfortunately, there were no end-of-life financial plans in place for Rachel. Our family is working together to provide an appropriate funeral and burial for her, but we find ourselves in need of your help. Our family would be very grateful for any financial assistance you could offer. After Rachel’s final expenses are cared for, any remaining funds will be used for Eric’s care.

Thank you for the outpouring of love. Our family and friends are some of the greatest people in the entire world. And our God is good, even in sorrow.
