Tragic Off-Road Accident Brothers Who Need Help

Donation protected
Many of you at Arizona College Prep and Perry High School know Aksh Iyer and his younger brother, Anuj Iyer

A few weeks ago, 19-year-old Aksh and his 15-year-old younger brother, Anuj, were in a rollover ATV accident. Both boys have serious damage to their right dominant wrists and hands. Aksh has had four reconstructive surgeries on his forearm and wrist. Anuj has had four surgeries in which three fingers were reconstructed and one of them had to be amputated after 3 days in the hospital. Both boys will have skin grafting surgeries within the next month and therapies over the next few months. Thankfully, there were no organ or brain injuries.

Aksh is a hardworking and lovable young boy who is currently a freshman at Purdue University. He is a beloved and spirited four-year Varsity Swim & Dive team member, Dive Captain in 2021, and one of the 'glue' teammates on the swim and dive team for his entire career at ACP. His attitude & infectious personality brought everyone together. Aksh has been studying engineering at Purdue University. Unfortunately, the accident did not allow Aksh to return to Purdue following spring break. When Aksh can return, his father will accompany him to Purdue to maintain his care and help him complete his studies.

Anuj is an energetic and passionate young boy who loves mountain biking, athletics, singing, and playing Minecraft. He is a Sophomore in the STEM scholar program at Perry high school and was recently selected to the Varsity track team for long distance. He was looking forward to excelling this season as a Varsity track runner Mountain biker. Unfortunately, he will not be able to participate in any sports for several more months as he is healing his dominant hand through intense daily therapies.

Both brothers and their parents, Sandeep and Vidya, are extremely grateful for the outpouring of visitors, prayers, and love shown while in the hospital and at home, as they recover from this life-changing traumatic event.

The road to recovery will be a long one for both brothers. Physical and occupational therapy, further skin grafting surgeries, and follow-up care for Aksh and Anuj will take place over the next several months.
The parents have insurance; however, medical bills and other related expenses are expected to be more than $100K. This fund’s purpose is to cover uninsured costs, copays, travel costs to appointments, therapy care beyond the insured limit, and all other unforeseen expenses that arise because of this accident. The parents have specifically requested that any funds not needed by their family be directed towards a charity.

We understand times are tough and many cannot donate, but for those who can, that would be very much appreciated. If you cannot, please just keep this family in your prayers and send love their way.
